HOW THE AWARDS WILL BE JUDGED
Entries to the Marketing Campaign of the Year, App of the Year, Safety Technology of the Year, Road Safety Initiative of the Year, In-Car Product of the Year, and Finance Product of the Year will be assessed by expert judges from FirstCar.
The Most Wanted First Car of the Year will be voted for by FirstCar readers, from a shortlist drawn up by FirstCar's judging panel.
For the other award categories, a shortlist of cars will be chosen and assessed by expert judges from FirstCar, led by editor David Motton.
Entries are limited to 1,000 words.
A maximum of three pages of additional supporting documents can be supplied. If you are able to provide independent evidence or supporting documents, this will help the judges where appropriate. However, it is not compulsory to do so. Not providing additional documents in addition to completing the online entry form should not be seen as a barrier to success.
Each entry will be judged on how well they address the published judging criteria, details of which can be found on the individual categories at www.firstcarawards.co.uk.
Each broken down part of the criteria will be scored on a scale of 0-20. No evidence scores zero, very strong evidence scores the maximum 20 points.
The entry with the highest total score, taking in to account all judges scores, will be adjudged the winner.
In the event of tie, the judges will make a collective decision.
Where a judge is precluded from offering a score due to a vested interest, an average score is taken from the other scoring judges and added to the overall total.
Overall Winner and Highly Commended awards will be awarded per category.
Identical multiple entries are not permitted in to different categories.
When entering the awards online, a 25-word synopsis is required, to be used in promotional materials, with a supporting logo if possible.
Sending in your entry with the entrant’s name confirms your agreement with our terms and conditions.
Please complete a separate entry for each category you enter.
No member of the panel will judge a category that their organisation has entered or assisted in any way. Furthermore, all awards sponsors will be prohibited from judging or influencing any awards.
No judge is permitted to speak to entrants about their entry before, during or after the event.
The awards period covers 1st January 2018 – 15th November 2018
All entries must be received by 16th November 2018
